Steve Olen proudly serves District 2 on the Daphne City Council and is seeking re-election after completing a successful five-year term, including one year as Council President. During his time in office, Steve has worked collaboratively on projects that have delivered significant results for Daphne:
Park & Recreation
Parks throughout Daphne—including Centennial Park, the Daphne Sports Complex, Lott Park, Joe Louis Patrick Park, and Trione Park—have seen significant renovations and enhancements to benefit all residents. In addition, Bayfront Park has received substantial upgrades, and construction will soon begin on a 2,000+ seat amphitheater—a vibrant venue for concerts, theater productions, and community events.
Community Investments
Steve was instrumental in bringing the new state-of-the-art animal shelter to Daphne, providing a modern facility that will serve families and their pets for decades.
Public Safety
Steve has been a strong supporter of public safety and the needs of the police and fire departments. During his term, the City opened a new fire station and invested more than $3 million in new fire trucks. The City also developed a new police patrol officer facility and expanded its municipal courtroom to better serve the community.
Thoughtful Growth & Planning
Steve spearheaded tougher land-use ordinances for developers and implemented impact fees to responsibly manage growth. Alongside his colleagues, he helped approve a new 20‑year comprehensive plan reflecting Daphne’s long-term vision.
A resident of Olde Towne Daphne since 2010, Steve brings more than 40 years of legal experience to his work in public service and is a graduate of Princeton University and the Cumberland School of Law. He is married to Sharon; they have three children, four grandchildren, and a fifth grandchild arriving in October. They attend St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
